Easily convert text to caption for all tables in Word 2007/2010
When you copy and paste contents which contains tables and their captions from web page into Microsoft Word documents, you will find out that the table caption texts are remain there, but they do not play as table captions any longer. The Text to Table Caption tool of Kutools for Word is designed to solve such problem by converting all texts that contain numbers and stay above or below tables to table captions quickly.
Click "Advanced" >> "Text to Caption" >> "Text to Table Caption". See screenshot (Fig.1)

After click the Text To Table Caption option, the Text to Table Caption dialog box will open for converting.
Select Texts with Number
- Above: this option indicates that Kutools for Word will convert the texts above each table to table caption.
- Below: this option indicates that Kutools for Word will convert the texts below each table to table caption.
No matter the paragraph text stays above or below table, the Text to Table caption feature can convert texts to table caption only if they contain a number.
Target Caption
- Don't change selected text: this option means each tables will be captioned with original texts that contain numbers and stay above or below tables.
- Change to system caption: this option will caption each table with system caption (such as "Table 1"), but not the texts that contain numbers and stay above or below tables.

Check all texts or inverse texts
When you open the Text to Table Caption dialog box, all texts that can be converted into table caption will list under the Paragraph Text list. You can select some of or all of the texts to be converted to table captions. If you need to convert all texts which have been listed under Paragraph Text to table captions, you can select all of them with Check All button.
Location texts in your document
This Location Button will be active when you select one of text under the Paragraph Text. To Click the Location button, it will navigate to the selected text in your document.
Preset styles of system caption
This Setup Caption Button will be active when you check the option of "Change to system caption" in Target Caption section. This button will open the Advanced Caption Options dialog box. And in this dialog box, you can preset styles of table caption, such as prefix, suffix, vertical position, and horizontal position. The system caption will be shown in the preset styles.
