How to multiply two columns and then sum in Excel?

Supposing you have the following data range which you need to multiply the quantity column and unit price and then add up all the multiply results together to get the total price:

Here, you can apply the SUMPRODUCT function to solve it, please enter this formula: =SUMPRODUCT(B2:B9,C2:C9) into the specific blank cell,(B2:B9, C2:C9 are the two columns range that you want to do the calculation), and then press Enter key to get the result, see screenshot:

1. Multiply two columns and then sum with one criterion

In the following worksheet data, I just want to get the total price of apple, so we can expand the SUMPRODUCT function, please enter this formula: =SUMPRODUCT(B2:B10,C2:C10*(A2:A10="Apple"))( B2:B10, C2:C10 are the two columns range that you want to do the calculation and A2:A10="Apple" is the criteria that you based on ), and then press Enter key to return the calculation result:

2. Multiply two columns and then sum with more criteria

We can also use the SUMPRODUCT function to multiply two columns and add up the values based on more criteria, for instance, I want to calculate the total price of apples are supplied by China as following screenshot shown:

Please type this formula: =SUMPRODUCT(C2:C10*(A2:A10="Apple"),D2:D10*(B2:B10="China")) into a blank cell, (C2:C10, D2:D10 are the two columns range that you want to do the calculation and A2:A10="Apple", B2:B10="China" are the criteria that you based on ), then press Enter key to get the result you want.

(2.) Multiply two columns and then sum based on multiple criteria in the same column

If I need to calculate the total price of apples and oranges, please use this formula: =SUMPRODUCT(((A2:A10="apple")+(A2:A10="orange")),C2:C10,D2:D10),(C2:C10, D2:D10 are the two columns range that you want to do the calculation and A2:A10="Apple", A2:A10="Orange" are the criteria that you based on), and then press Enter key, you will get the result as you like:

    Display only quantity and product name field.when I type quantity ,total amount will display on another textbox.It means that unit price from database column.
