While we rank a list that contains some errors, the ranking will be displayed as errors as below screenshot shown. In this article, I introduce an array formula which can do you a favor on quickly ranking values and ignoring errors in Excel.
To rank cells ignoring errors, you just need to use an array formula.
Select a cell next to the list, C2 for instance, type this formula, =IF(ISNUMBER(A2),SUM(IF(ISNUMBER(A$2:A$12),(A2>A$2:A$12)/COUNTIF(A$2:A$12,A$2:A$12)))+1,"") and press Shift + Ctrl + Enterkeys, then drag fill handle down to the cells which need to apply the formula.
In the formula, A2 is the first cell of the list you want to rank, A2:A12 is the list you use to rank.
