To calculate the item percentage of total, firstly, you need to calculate the total of each item.

1. Next to the table, type this formula =SUM(B2:E2) to sum the first item sales, then drag fill handle down to sum each item, see screenshot:

B2:E2 is the range of sales of the first item you want to calculate.

2. Then in a blank cell, calculate the total sales of all items with this formula =SUM(F2:F10). F2:F10 is the range contains the total of each item.

3. Now you can calculate each item’s percentage of total. Type this formula, =F2/$F$11, F2 is the total of the first item, $F$11 is the total number of all items, drag fill handle down to fill the formula to cells.

4. Click Home tab, in the Number group, click % to format the cells as percentage.
