How to merge cells without centering the contents in Excel?

Both Excel's Merge Cells command and Kutools for Excel can merge cells without automatically centering the contents, but they are designed for different situations. The key difference is whether you want to manually merge a specific selection or automatically merge groups of adjacent cells containing the same value.

Merge cells without centering with Merge Cells
To merge cell without centering, please do as these:
Select the cells you want to merge, under Home tab, click the arrow next to Merge & Center, select Merge Cells from the drop-down list.
The cells have been merged without centering.
Merge same cells without centering with Merge Same Cells
If you have many adjacent cells containing the same values and want to merge them without centering, Kutools for Excel’s Merge Same Cells utility provides a faster way to process the selected range automatically.
After installing Kutools for Excel, please do as below: （Free Download Kutools for Excel Now!)
Select the range containing the adjacent cells with the same contents, then click Kutools > Merge & Split > Merge Same Cells.
The adjacent cells containing the same values in the selected range are merged automatically without centering.
Tip: If you want to unmerge the cells and restore the values, you can apply Kutools for Excel’s Unmerge Cells & Fill Value utility.
