Description
The Excel HEX2BIN function converts a hexadecimal number to a binary number.

Return Value
The HEX2BIN function returns to a binary number.
Error
1. Return #NUM! error if one of below states occurs:
- Argument number is > FFFFFFFF00 (-512) or < 1FF (511) or an invalid value;
- Argument places is provided not enough for the argument number, such as HEX2BIN(“010”,2) returns #NUM!, because the correctly result is 10000.
- Argument places is < = 0.
2. Return #VALUE! error if argument places is a non-numeric values.

Usage and Examples
Example: Basic Usage
There is a list of hexadecimal numbers placed in C5:C11, to get the corresponding binary numbers based on the places in D5:D11, please copy or enter the below formula to the next cell of the range:
=HEX2BIN(C5,D5)
Press Enter key and drag the autofill handle down to get all binary numbers.
If you just use the formula once, you also can directly type arguments in the formula:
=HEX2BIN(0,1)
