Excel RADIANS Function
The RADIANS function converts degrees to radians.
Syntax
=RADIANS(angle)
Arguments
- angle (required): An angle in degrees to convert to radians.
Return Value
The RADIANS function returns an angle in radians.
Function Notes
- To convert radians to degrees, use the DEGREES function.
- 180° in radians equals to 3.142 or π (pi).
Example
To convert the angles in degrees listed in the table as shown below to radians, please copy or enter the below formula in the top cell (D6) of the result list, and press Enter to get the result. Then select the result cell, and drag the fill handle (the small square in the lower-right corner of the selected cell) down to apply the formula to the below cells.
=RADIANS(B6)
Instead of a cell reference, you can type the actual angle value in the formula as shown below.
=RADIANS(180)
