Excel TANH Function

Description

The Excel TANH function returns the hyperbolic tangent of a supplied number.

Formula syntax

TANH(number)

Arguments

  • number: required, the angle provided in radians, the absolute value of number must be less than 2^27.

Returns

The TANH function returns a numeric value.

Errors

If argument number is non-numeric, the TANH function returns #VALUE! error value.

Usage and Examples

To get the hyperbolic tangent of a number in cell B3, please use formula as this:

=TANH(B3)
