Dropdown list with checkbox and protected sheet

Hello,
I protected cells (in particular formulas) of my sheet but when I protect the sheet (by releasing locked cells) I can no longer use the drop-down list with checkboxes. I followed the tutorial but it only works for the drop down list without the checkboxes. Did the kutools for excel do it? If yes, how ?
