If source sheets/files are stored in OneDrive and/or SharePoint Online (from Office 365), and/or you're trying to save the combined sheets to OneDrive and/or SharePoint Online, the resulting combined file is empty.

The OneDrive and SharePoint have local caches with a true C:\Users\ based path for local storage, and in this instance, the files were not "files on demand" - they were actually cached locally.
