Quickly find all cells with specific cell formatting in Excel

In a large worksheet or workbook, you may want to find cells with a specific formatting, such as all bold cells, all italic cells, all cells with a specific font color or background color and so on…. If you have Kutools for Excel, with its Find Cell Format option of Super Find feature, you can quickly find all cells with a specific cell formatting in a selection, active sheet, selected sheets, active workbook or all opened workbooks as you need.

Find and select all bold or non-bold cells in Excel

To find and select all bold or non-bold cells in a selection, worksheet or workbook, please do with following steps:

1. Select the cells that you want to find the bold or non-bold cells, and then click Kutools > Find > Super Find, see screenshot:

Tip: if you want to find cells from worksheet or workbook, directly click Kutools > Find > Super Find to enable Super Find feature.

2. In the Super Find pane, please do the following operations:

(1.) Click shot find cell formatting 3 button to active this Cell Format option;

(2.) Then choose one finding scope from the Within drop-down list, in this case, I choose Selection;

(3.) And then select Bold cells or Non-bold cells in the Type drop-down list as you need;

(4.) Then click Find button to search all relative cells you specified;

(5.) All specific cells are displayed in the list box, then in Select by drop-down list, choose Cells/Rows/Columns as you need, and click the Select button to select them by cells, rows of columns.

3. And then, all bold or non-bold cells you specified have been selected as following screenshot shown:

Find and select all merged cells or specific merged cells in Excel

This option also can help you to find all merged cells or certain merged cells as quickly as possible.

1. Select the range of cells that you want to find all merged cells, and then click Kutools > Find > Super Find to activate the Super Find pane.

2. In the Super Find pane, please do as this:

(1.) Click shot find cell formatting 3 button to activate this Cell Format option;

(2.) Then choose one finding scope from the Within drop-down list, in this case, I choose Selection;

(3.) And then select Merged cells in the Type drop-down list;

(4.) Then click Find button to search all merged cells;

(5.) All merged cells are displayed in the list box, then choose the selected type from Select by drop-down list and click the Select button to select relative cells by cells, rows or columns.

3. Then, all merged cells of the selected range have been selected as following screenshot shown:

Note: With this option, you can select the specific merged cells as well. In the Super Find pane, check the check box in the Value section, and then enter the value that you want to find out, and all the merged cells with this specific value have been found and selected, see screenshot:

Find and select all cells with specific font color or background color in Excel

If you need to find and select the cells with the specific font or background color, this feature also can do you a favor.

1. Select the range of cells that you want to find all cells with the specific font or background color, and then click Kutools > Find > Super Find to activate the Super Find pane.

2. In the Super Find pane, please do as this:

(1.) Click shot find cell formatting 3 button to activate this Cell Format option;

(2.) Then choose one finding scope from the Within drop-down list, in this case, I choose Selection;

(3.) And then select Font color or Background color in the Type drop-down list;

(4.) Go on clicking shot find cell formatting 9 button to select a cell with the specific font or background color you want to find cells based on;

(5.) Then click Find button to search all cells with the specific font or background color;

(6.) All cells with certain font color or background color are displayed in the list box, then click the Select button to select them after choosing one selecting type from the Select by drop-down list.

3. And all cells with the specified font or background color have been found and selected at once, see screenshot:

Notes:

1. This useful feature also can help you to find all cells with another specific formatting, such as italic cells, cells with strikethrough, cells with formulas, cells with comments, etc…

2. The Super Find pane can be resized and moved as you need.
