Quickly remove the prefixes such as FW / RE from selected email subjects in Outlook

When replying to or forwarding messages in Outlook, prefixes such as "RE" or "FW" will be automatically added to the beginning of the subject line. If you wish to remove these or any other specific prefixes from multiple selected emails or from all messages within selected folders, "Kutools for Outlook"'s remove "Subject Prefix" feature can efficiently assist you in accomplishing this task with ease and speed.

For removing multiple prefixes from selected messages or messages in selected folders, please do with the following steps:
Remove subject prefixes from emails in selected folders:
1. Click "Kutools Plus" > "Subject Prefix". See screenshot:
2. In the "Remove Subject Prefix" dialog box, do the following operations:
- Select "Folders" from the "Apply to" section;
- Click the "Configure" button to open the "Select Folder" dialog box;
- In the "Select Folder" dialog box, check the folders that you want to remove the subject prefixes from. The subfolders will be auto-selected if the "Include subfolder(s)" checkbox is checked;
- Check "Reply Prefix (RE:)" or "Forward Prefix (FW:)" to remove the RE / FW prefix. You can also enter a specific prefix by checking the "Custom" option.

3. After finishing the above settings, click "OK", and all the specified prefixes in the subject lines of the selected folders will be removed at once. See screenshot:

If you only need to remove the subject prefixes from some selected messages, this feature can also help.
1. First, select the emails from which you want to remove the subject prefixes, then apply this feature by clicking "Kutools Plus" > "Subject Prefix". See screenshot:
2. In the "Remove Subject Prefix" dialog box, do the following operations:
- Select the "Selected Messages" option from the "Apply to" section;
- Check "Reply Prefix (RE:)" or "Forward Prefix (FW:)" to remove the RE / FW prefix. You can also enter a specific prefix by checking the "Custom" option;
- Click "OK" to close the dialog. The specified prefix text will be removed from the selected message subjects immediately.

Note: In the "Custom" textbox, you can only type one specific prefix text at a time.
