Quickly Rename Multiple Worksheets in Microsoft Excel 2007/2010

If you have a bundle of worksheets need to be renamed, what will you do? Will you manually rename the multiple worksheets one by one? Kutools for Excel has embodied a sophisticated Rename Multiple Worksheets feature for you. It really saves you time from manually renaming a bundle of worksheets in Excel. With this feature you can rename multiple worksheets much easier. Demo

Click "Kutools">>"Worksheets Tools">>"Rename Multiple Worksheets...". See screenshot (Fig.1 and Fig.2).

After clicking on Rename Multiple Worksheets, the Rename Multiple Worksheets window will appear. Please first select the worksheets which you want to rename from the Worksheets list, and choose the rename options from Rename, and then choose the way to enter the worksheet name. You can choose to enter the worksheet name from an input box or from a range cells in your workbook.

Tips: If you are going to specify the worksheet name from range cells in your workbook, you should first enter the worksheet names in range cells before clicking Rename Multiple Worksheets.

Note: If the worksheet name contains one or more invalid characters, either to input the worksheet name from input box or range, this tool will fail to process the rename operation.

There are 3 types of rename options for renaming the worksheets:

Rename options 1: Insert in front of the sheet name

If you choose this rename option, it will add the worksheet name which you choose to enter from an input box or from a range cells in front of all the existing worksheet names.

Rename options 2: Insert after the sheet name

If you choose this rename option, it will add the worksheet name which you choose to enter from an input box or from a range cells behind all the existing worksheet names.

Rename options 3: Replace the sheet name

If you choose this rename option, it will use the worksheet name from an input box or from a range cells to completely replace the existing worksheet names.
