Add a new blank page in Word document – 2 easy ways
Adding a new blank page in a Word document is a fundamental skill that enhances document organization and presentation. Whether you're crafting a lengthy report, structuring a book, or preparing a presentation, the ability to integrate new pages at precisely the right location is crucial. This process not only aids in segmenting content effectively but also ensures that your document maintains a clean, professional appearance.
Typically, pressing the Enter key repeatedly allows you to manually add a blank page. However, this guide will introduce some simpler and more efficient methods to insert blank pages or spaces in your document, making editing both straightforward and flexible.

Difference between Blank Page and Page Break
Inserting blank pages and page breaks are two common page management functions in Microsoft Word, each with its specific uses and effects.
- Insert a blank page:
Using the blank page feature in Word, you can add a completely blank page to your document with standard margin settings and preset headers and footers. This is ideal for creating distinct sections or adding new content, like between chapters or where clear separation is needed. - Insert a page break:
By inserting a page break, you create a breakpoint in the document that forces the current content to jump to the top of the next new page, leaving the remainder of the current page blank. A page break does not add any new pages; instead, it pushes the content to the next page, which is the major difference from inserting a blank page.
In summary, if you need to create a completely content-free new page in your document, choosing to insert a blank page is appropriate. If you only need to start the subsequent content of the document on a new page without altering the rest of the current page, then using a page break is a more suitable choice.
