In Excel, if a cell contains a number like 0. 88635, you may format it as 89% or 0.89, and when you used this rounded cell in a formula, the formula will calculate by using its actual value 0. 88635 but not the rounded value 0.89. Note: the methods provided in this tutorial are tested in Excel 2021, there may be some different in different Excel verisions.
1. Click File > Options to enable the Excel Options window.
2. Click the Advanced tab, then go to the right section to scroll to the When calculating this workbook, then tick Set precision as displayed checkbox, then a dialog pops to warn you the calculation may lose accuracy. Click OK > OK.
If you just want to calculate with rounded values in some cells, you can apply the To Actual feature of Kutools for Excel.
Select the values that you want to calculate with displayed values, and click Kutools > To Actual. Then the values will be converted to the displayed values.
