I use the search to filter down the view of my emails (eg. from:joe) then select the email of interest.

But if I then want to see the surrounding emails in the conversation or received around the same date, so I clear the filter. Unfortunately the selection jumps completely and the context surrounding the found email is completely lost. Is there a better way to deal with this?

There is a problem with one of my folders.

It simply wont accept the changes, nor can I delete it. The folder keeps coming back and back and back!

And it has lost all the emails that were in it!

Thank you very much for the instructions on clearing a filter for the inbox. I am new to Outlook 2013 and was afraid I had lost everything in my Inbox. Your instructions were very helpful.
