In Excel, we always insert some hyperlinks into cells so that we can link the information that we need. It’s useful. But under some circumstances, you may encounter some problems with hyperlinks, such as, how can you extract the url links from hundreds of hyperlinks, how can you quickly turn hundreds of plain text urls into hyperlinks and so on. That’s why we build the Kutools for Excel’s Convert Hyperlinks utility. With this utility, you can quickly apply the following operations:

Convert plain text links into clickable hyperlinks


Click Kutools > Link > Convert Hyperlinks. See screenshots:

Extract url links from multiple hyperlinks

Supposing you have a range of hyperlinks in the worksheet as shown in below screenshot, you can quickly extract url links from all hyperlinks as follows. See screenshot:

1. Select a range that you want to extract the url links from hyperlinks, and then apply the utility (Click Kutools > Link > Convert Hyperlinks).

2. In the Convert Hyperlinks dialog box, please specify the settings you want.

(1). It will convert plain text url links into clickable hyperlinks.

(2). It will display the actual url address of hyperlinks in the cells, such as to extract url link from hyperlinks.

(3). Specify a range you want to apply the operation.

(4). Specify a cell to begin locate the results.

(5). If you don’t want to locate the results into a new range, please check Convert source range option.

3. Click OK button to apply the operation. You will see the results as follows. See screenshots:

Convert plain text links into clickable hyperlinks

If you have a worksheet with hundreds of plain text urls as shown in the below screenshot, you can quickly turn all of the plain text urls into clickable hyperlinks as follows. See screenshot:

1. Select a range that you want to extract the url links from hyperlinks, and then apply the utility (Click Kutools > Link > Convert Hyperlinks).

2. In the Convert Hyperlinks dialog box, please specify the settings you want.

(1). It will convert plain text url links into clickable hyperlinks.

(2). It will display the actual url address of hyperlinks in the cells, such as to extract url link from hyperlinks.

(3). Specify a range you want to apply the operation.

(4). Specify a cell to begin locate the results.

(5). If the hyperlink is linked to current document, please check this option.

(6). If you don’t want to locate the results into a new range, please check Convert source range option.

3. Click OK button to apply the operation. You will see the results as follows. See screenshots:

This utility supports Undo (Ctrl+Z).
