Quickly count number of weekends between two dates in Excel

Supposing the start date is 2015/3/25, the end date is 2015/10/26, and you need to know how many weekends in this period. Please do as follows:

1. Please select a blank cell to use the formula, and click Kutools > Formula Helper > Formula Helper. See screenshot:

2. In the opening Formula Helper dialog box, please:

  • In the Choose a formula box, find and select Number of non-working days between two dates;
    Tips: You can check the Filter box, enter certain word into the text box to filter the formula quickly.
  • Click the Browse button  in the Start Date box to select the start date cell;
  • Click the Browse button  in the End Date box to select the end date cell.
  • Click the OK button. See screenshot

Note: You can type the start date or end date directly such as “2015/3/25” and “2015/10/26” separately into the Start Date and End Date boxes.

And then you will see the number of all weekends between two dates has been counted. See screenshot:

Note: You can also directly enter the formula =INT((WEEKDAY(B1-1)-B1+B2)/7) + INT((WEEKDAY(B1-6)-B1+B2)/7) to count the weekends between two dates. (In the formula, B1 is the cell with start date, B2 is the cell with end date.) after installing Kutools for Excel.


Quickly count number of all weekdays between two dates in Excel

Note: You can directly enter the formula =B2-B1+1-(INT((WEEKDAY(B1-1)-B1+B2)/7) + INT((WEEKDAY(B1-6)-B1+B2)/7)) to count the weekdays between two dates. (In the formula, B1 is the cell with start date, and B2 is the cell with end date.)


Quickly count number of specific weekday between two dates in Excel

Sometimes, you may need to count the number of a certain weekday in a date range, says Sunday. Kutools for Excel’s Count the number of specific weekday formula can help you get it done easily. Please do as follows:

1. Please select a blank cell to use the formula, and click Kutools > Formula Helper > Formula Helper.

2. In the opening Formula Helper dialog box, please:

  • In the Choose a formula box, find and select Count the number of specific weekday;
    Tips: You can check the Filter box, enter certain word into the text box to filter the formula quickly.
  • Click the Browse button  in the Start Date box to specify the start date cell;
  • Click the Browse button  in the End Date box to specify the end date cell;
  • Type one number between 1 and 7 to specify the certain weekday in the Weekday box.
  • Click the OK button. See screenshot

Tips:

(1) You can type in the start date or end date directly as “2015/3/25”.

(2) 1 indicates Sunday, 2-6 means from Monday to Friday, and 7 means Saturday. In our case, we want to count the number of Sunday; therefore we type 1 into the Weekday box.

1. You can directly enter the formula =INT((WEEKDAY(B1-1)-B1+B2)/7) into a blank cell to get the result.
