Normally there is no quick way for you to sort or arrange the order of sheets in Excel, either in alphabetical or numeric order. You may need to sort sheet tabs order manually one by one when you want to sort the sheets order. But with Kutools for Excel’s Sort Sheets utility, you can quickly:
Sort sheets / worksheets alphabetically
Sort sheets / worksheets alphanumerically
Sort sheets / worksheets by tab color
How to apply the Sort Sheets utility
Click Kutools Plus >> Worksheet >> Sort Sheets to enable the feature. See screenshot:
Sort sheets / worksheets alphabetically
With this utility, you can sort the sheets / worksheets in alphabetical order with one click.
1. Apply this utility by clicking Kutools Plus > Worksheet > Sort Sheets.
2. In the Sort Sheets dialog box, click Alpha Sort button. You can preview the result in the New sheet tabs order list box. See screenshot:
3. Then click OK. The sheet tabs have been sorted in alphabetical order. See screenshots:

Sort sheets / worksheets alphanumerically
If you need to sort the sheet tabs in alphanumeric order, this utility also can help you.
1. Apply this utility by clicking Kutools Plus > Worksheet > Sort Sheets.
2. In the Sort Sheets dialog box, click Alpha Numeric Sort button. You can preview the result in the New sheet tabs order list box. See screenshot:
3. Then click OK. The sheet tabs have been sorted in alphanumerical order. See screenshots:

Sort sheets / worksheets by tab color
Supposing you have a workbook with colored worksheet tabs, in order to looks neatly, you want to sort the sheets / worksheets by tab color. With the Color Sort option, you can do it as follows:
1. Apply this utility by clicking Kutools Plus > Worksheet > Sort Sheets.
2. In the Sort Sheets dialog box, click Color Sort button. You can preview the result in the New sheet tabs order list box. See screenshot:
3. Then click OK. The sheet tabs have been sorted by tab color. See screenshots:

In the Sort Sheets dialog box:
- A: You can see the original sheet order in the Original sheet tabs order list box.
- B: You can preview the sorted sheet order in the New sheet tabs order list box.
- C: With the Reverse button, the sheet tab order will be reversed in the New sheet tabs order list.
- D: You can use the Move up, Move down, Move to top, or Move to bottom button to change specific sheet tab order manually in the New sheet tabs order list.
- E: If you want to sort both the visible sheets and the hidden sheets, you can check the Include hidden sheets checkbox.
- F: If you check the View sheet checkbox, it will activate the sheet in the workbook when you click the sheet in the New sheet tabs order list.
- G: With the Reset button, the new sheet tabs order will be restored to original status.
