Please do as follows to highlight values in an Excel list that appear X times.
1. Select the list you will highlight the values, click Home > Conditional Formatting > New Rule.
2. In the New Formatting Rule dialog box, you need to:
- 2.1 Click Use a formula to determine which cells to format option in the Select a Rule Type section;
- 2.2 Copy the below formula into the Format values where this formula is true box;
- =COUNTIF($C$2:$C$13, C2) = 3
- 2.3 Click the Format button to specify a font or fill color you need;
- 2.4 Click the OK button. See screenshot:
Notes:
- 1. In the formula, $C$2:$C$13 is the selected range, C2 is the first cell of the selected range, and number 3 is the frequency of values.
- 2. If you want to highlight values that appear 5 times, please change the number 3 to 5.
You can see values appearing 3 times in the specified list are highlighted immediately.
