Quickly filter cells by workday/weekend/specific day of the week in Excel

In Excel, you can filter dates by year, month or quarter with the Filter function, but how about filtering cells by workday, weekend or a specific weekday? The Special Filter utility of Kutools for Excel can filter dates based on workday, weekend or a specific weekday.

How to use the Special Filter utility

Click Kutools Plus > Special Filter > Special Filter, See screenshot:

1. Select the column range of dates you want to filter from, and click Kutools Plus > Special Filter > Special Filter.

2. Then in the Special Filter dialog, do as this:

(1) Check the Date checkbox;

(2) Select Weekend or Workdays from the drop down list in Filter rules section;

(3) In Processing of results section, choose font color or background color as you need to highlight the filtered results.

3. click Ok, a dialog pops out to remind you the number of results.

4. Click the OK button to close the Kutools for Excel dialog box.

Now the dates have been filtered by workdays or weekend and highlighted with the specified font color or background color.

Filter cells by specific day of the week

1. Select the column range of dates you want to filter from, click Kutools Plus > Special Filter > Special Filter.

2. Then in the Special Filter dialog, do as this:

1, Check the Date checkbox;

2, Select the specified weekday you want to filter from the drop down list in Filter rules section;

3, In Processing of results section, choose font color or background color as you need to highlight the filtered results.

3. click Ok, a dialog pops out to remind you the number of results.

4. Click the OK button to close the Kutools for Excel dialog box.

Now the dates have been filtered by the specific weekday and highlighted with the specified background color or font color. See screenshots:

Note: If you need to select entire rows of all filtered results, you can check the Select entire row option in the Special Filter dialog box. See screenshot:
