How to find out recurring appointments in Outlook?
Since a long time, there may have been many daily/weekly/monthly recurring appointments in your Microsoft Outlook. These recurring appointments may alert you on time. However, some recurring appointments are not needed any longer, and some recurring appointments may need to change. Find out recurring appointments with Search Tools
Search recurring appointments in Outlook 2010 and 2013
The first trick is about searching recurring appointments with Outlookโs feature of Search Tools in Outlook 2010 and 2013.
Step 1: In the Calendar view, open a calendar with clicking the calendar name under My Calendars in the Navigation Pane.
Step 2: Put the cursor in the searching box above the calendar to activate the Search Tools.
Step 3: Click the More > Recurring in the Refine group on the Search tab.
Step 4: Above the calendar, click the new added Recurring box and select the Yes.
Then all recurring appointments will be filtered in selected calendar immediately.
Search recurring appointments in Outlook 2007
There are some differences to search recurring appointments with Search Tools in Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Step 1: In the Calendar view, open a calendar with clicking the calendar name under My Calendars in the Navigation Pane.
Step 2: Click the button at the right of search box to expand the query builder.
Step 3: Click the Add Criteria > Recurring.
Step 4: Click the new added Recurring box, and select the Yes.
Find out recurring appointments with sorting by recurrence
Apart from searching recurring appointments directly, you can sort appointments by recurrence firstly, and then get the recurring appointments at a glance.
Step 1: In the Calendar view, open a calendar with clicking the calendar name under My Calendar in the Navigation Pane.
Step 2: Show the calendar items in the List view:
- In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the Change View > List on the View tab;
- In Outlook 2007, please click the View > Current View > All Appointments.
Step 3: At the header of appointments list, please click the Recurrence Pattern.
Then you will find out the recurring appointments at the top/end of the list.
Find out recurring appointments with grouping
The last method will group any recurring appointments automatically, and you can get all of recurring appointments at any time.
Step 1: In the Calendar view, open a calendar with clicking the calendar name under My Calendars in the Navigation Pane.
Step 2: Show the calendar items in the List view:
- In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the Change View > List on the View tab;
- In Outlook 2007, please click the View > Current View > All Appointments.
Step 3: Open the Advanced View Settings: List dialog box:
- In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the View Settings on the View tab.
- In Outlook 2007, please click the View > Current View > Customize Current View.
Step 4: In the new coming dialog box, please click the Group By button.
Step 5: In the Group By dialog box, please select the Recurring in the Group items by box.
Note: Please uncheck the Automatically group according to arrangement option. If this option is checked, the Group items by box will be gray.
Step 6: Click all OK buttons in each dialog box.
Then you will see all appointments are grouped by recurring. And all recurring appointments are grouped in the Recurring: Yes group. See the following screen shot:
