How to search contacts by first name and last name in Outlook?
Let’s say you want to send an email to your friend, but you can’t remember his email address clearly. How to find out your friend’s contact information quickly? Search contacts by first/last/full name in Outlook 2010 and 2013
This section will walk you through searching contacts by first/last/full name in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013.
Step 1: Get into the Contact view and click to open a contact folder where you will search the certain contact.
Note: In Outlook 2013, get into the Contact view with clicking the People at the bottom of your Microsoft Outlook, and then click to open the contact folder.
Step 2: Put the cursor into the Search box to activate the Search Tools.
Step 3: Click the More > First Name in the Refine group on the Search Tab. See screen shot:
Note: If you want to search by last name, please click the More > Last Name, so does the Full Name. See screen shot above.
Step 4: Then the search filed of First Name appears. And type the first name into this field.
Now you will see all contacts whose first names contain the keyword you entered come out at once.
Search contact by first/last/full name in Outlook 2007
This sections will guide you to search contacts by first/last/full name in Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Step 1: Shift to the Contact view, and click to open a contact folder that you will search contacts in.
Step 2: Expand the Query Builder with clicking the besides the Search box.
Note: You can also expand the Query Builder with clicking the Tools > Instant Search > Expand the Query Builder.
Step 3: Now you will view the Full Name field in the Query Builder. Type a keyword in the Full Name field.
Then you will see all contacts whose display names contain the specified keyword comes out immediately.
If you want to search contacts by the first/last name, please go ahead as following:
Step 4: Click the Add Criteria > First Name in the expanding Query Builder. See screen shot:
Note: If you want to search by last name, please click the Add Criteria > Last Name.
Step 5: Now the First Name field comes out. Type a keyword into this First Name field, and it will find out all contacts whose first names contains the typed keyword.
