How to always send plain text of emails to certain contacts in Outlook?
For some reasons, some recipients can only receive emails in plain text format, but you may forget to change the email format before sending in Outlook, how to deal with it? In fact, we can configure the email properties of these recipients, and always send plain text of emails to these recipients in Outlook.

Always send plain text of emails to certain contacts in Outlook 2007 and 2010
To always send only plain text of emails to a certain contact in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and 2010, you can configure settings of this contact as following:
Step 1: Shift to the Contacts view, and open the contact with double clicking it.
Step 2: In the opening Contact window, move mouse over the email address in the E-mail box, click the More button > Outlook Properties in the Contact card in Outlook 2010. See screen shot below:
Note: In Outlook 2007, just right click the email address in the E-mail box, and select the Outlook Properties from the right-clicking menu. See screen shot:
Step 3: In the opening E-mail Properties dialog box, click the Internet format box and select the Send Plain Text only from the drop down list, and click the OK button.
Step 4: Click the Save & Close button in the Contact window.
From now on, no matter which format emails the certain contact are in, the contact can only receive emails in the Plain Text format.
Notes:
(1) You can’t configure the Internet format option of exchange users’ email addresses.
(2) This method requires the email account you send emails with is the type of POP3.
Always send plain text of emails to certain contacts in Outlook 2013
In Outlook 2013, the popping up Contact cards will make the Open Outlook Properties command invisible. Therefore, you need to configure the settings of Contact Card to show the Open Outlook Properties command, and then configure this contact’s settings.
Step 1: Open the Run dialog box with pressing the Win + R keys in a meantime, enter regedit into the Open box, and click the OK button.
Step 2: In the coming User Account Control dialog box, click the Yes button.
Step 3: Open the REG_DWORD of TurnOffHoverFunctionality with following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\common\contactcard
Notes:
(1) If you can’t find out the Office key, Select the Microsoft key and click the Edit > New > Key, and name the key as Office; and you can follow the same way to create the 15.0 key, common key, and contactcard key as the above structure shows.
(2) Select the contactcard key, next click the Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name the new DWORD as TurnOffHoverFunctionality.
Step 4: Double click the TurnOffHoverFunctionality to open the Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value dialog box.
Step 5: Change the value to 1 in the Value data box, and then click the OK button.
Step 6: Close the Registry Editor, and restart your Microsoft Outlook.
Step 7: Shift to the People view, and change the folder view with clicking the Change View > List on the View tab.
Step 8: Find out the contact you will always send plain text of emails, and open it with double clicking.
Step 9: In the opening Contact window, right click the email address in the E-mail box, and then select the Open Outlook Properties from the right-clicking menu. See screen shot:
Note: If the Open Outlook Properties does not show in the right-clicking menu, you need to restart your Outlook, and then open the contact again.
Step 10: In the throwing out E-mail Properties dialog box, click the Internet format box and select the Send Plain Text only from the drop down list, and click the OK button.
Step 11: Click the Save & Close button in the Contact window.
In future, no matter which kind of format emails you send to that specified contact, the contact can only receive emails in the Plain Text format.
Notes:
(1) You can’t configure the Internet format option of exchange users’ email addresses.
(2) This method requires the email account you send emails with is the type of POP3.
