How to prevent Outlook asking for credentials exchange every time?
Have you been asked for exchange credentials when opening Microsoft Outlook? If yes, you may notice the Windows Security dialog box pops up when Outlook launching every time. See screen shot below. Normally you can fix this problem with checking the Remember my credentials after entering your credentials, and click the OK button.
However, in some special cases, it asks for exchange credentials every time when launching Microsoft Outlook, but there is no option of Remember my credential at all in the popping up Windows Security dialog box. (See the following screen shot.) In this article, I will guide you to fix this problem and prevent Microsoft Outlook from asking for exchange credentials with configuring Account Settings quickly.
- Automate emailing with Auto CC/BCC, Auto Forward by rules; send Auto Reply (Out of Office) without requiring an exchange server...
- Get reminders like BCC Warning when replying to all while you're in the BCC list, and Remind When Missing Attachments for forgotten attachments...
- Improve email efficiency with Reply (All) With Attachments, Auto Add Greeting or Date & Time into Signature or Subject, Reply Multiple Emails...
- Streamline emailing with Recall Emails, Attachment Tools (Compress All, Auto Save All...), Remove Duplicates, and Quick Report...
To prevent Microsoft Outlook from asking for exchange credential each time when starting, you need to change some exchange settings in the Account Settings. Please do as following:
Step 1: Open the Account Settings dialog box:
- In Outlook 2007, please click the Tools > Account Settings;
- In Outlook 2010 and 2013, please click the File > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings.
Step 2: In the Account Settings dialog box,
- Go to the E-mail tab;
- Click to highlight the exchange account that asks for logon credentials every time when opening Microsoft Outlook;
- Click the Change button.
Step 3: In the new dialog box of Change Account, please click the More Settings button.
Step 4: In the popping up Microsoft Exchange dialog box,
- Go to the Security tab;
- Uncheck the option of Always prompt for logon credentials;
- Click the OK button.
Step 5: Now you get back to the Change Account dialog box, please click the Next button and Finish button successively.
Step 6: Click the Close button to exit the Account Settings dialog box.
After configuring the security settings of specified exchange account, it won’t pop up dialog box and asking for exchange credential when opening Microsoft Outlook any longer.
