How to Delay or Schedule outgoing message delivery in Outlook?
Have you ever wished to take back an email right after hitting send? Or perhaps you prefer not to send your messages immediately after composing them. Microsoft Outlook offers a built-in feature that allows you to delay the delivery of individual messages or apply a delay to all messages. Delay single message sending
1. Open Outlook and create a new email. Compose your message as usual.
2. In the message editing window, go to Options > Delay Delivery.
3.In the Properties dialog hat appears, check the Do not deliver before box and set your desired delivery date and time using the drop-down lists. Click the Close button to save the changes and exit the dialog.
4. Click the Send button. The message will remain in your Outbox folder and will be sent automatically at the specified time.
Delay messages delivery
1. Click File > Info > Manage Rules & Alerts. See screenshot:
2. Click New Rule under the E-mail Rules tab.
3. In Rules Wizard, under Start from a blank rule, select Apply rule on massages I send. And then click the Next to continue.
4. In this dialog, you can select the conditions which meet your needs or you can also leave all the conditions unchecked and then click Next button.
Notice: If you leave all the conditions unchecked, when you click Next, a prompt box will pop up, confirm by clicking the Yes button.
5. In this new Rules Wizard, check the defer delivery by a number of minutes box. Click on the underlined () to set your desired delay time.
6. Type your ideal time directly in the field or you can choose the time by clicking the up and down button. When you finish selecting time, click OK. The provided maximum number is 120 minutes. When it turns to the previous wizard, click Next.
7. Select you exceptions or leave them unchecked, then click Next.
8. Name your rule and ensure the Turn on this rule box is checked. Click Finish.
9. With this rule activated, all new messages will now be delayed by the set time before delivery.
