How to send calendar as icalendar attachment in Outlook?

In Outlook, people usually send a meeting request when they want to invite others to attend the meeting. Besides using meeting request, there is an alternative method for you to invite others to attend the meeting. That is send calendar as icalendar in Outlook. With the Forward as icalendar feature, you can easily send a calendar as icalendar in Outlook. Please do as follows.

1. Go to the Calendar view by clicking Calendar in the Navigation Pane.

2. Create a new appointment by clicking Home > New Appointment. Or open an existing appointment by double click it.

3. Make your appointment complete, and then click Appointment > Forward > Forward as iCalendar. See screenshot:

4. Composing the email, and then click Send button to send it.

You can send calendar as icalendar by saving an appointment as icalendar and then insert it to an email as attachment.

1. Shift to the Calendar view by clicking Calendar in the Navigation Pane.

2. Create a new appointment by clicking Home > New Appointment. Or open an existing appointment by double click it.

3. Then click File > Save as. See screenshot:

4. In the Save As dialog, choose a destination for saving the icalendar file. Name it and keep the Save as type as iCalendar Format. And finally click Save button. See screenshot:

5. Shift to the Mail view and create a new email message by clicking Home > New E-mail.

6. In the Message dialog, click Insert > Attach File. See screenshot:

7. In the Insert File dialog, find and select the icalendar file you have saved before, and then click Insert tab to insert it.

8. Compose your email, and then Send it. And your calendar has been sent as attachment as icalendar format.

there is no option to forward as icalendar in office365. anyone else regret upgrading?

Maybe it's a company setting, but we use Outlook 2016 and we don't have the "appointment" tab. All we have is Organizer Meeting and that's it so I don't see the ability to forward an invite.
