How to sort deleted email items by date deleted in Outlook?
By default, all Outlook emails are arranged by date no matter which folder you are located in. When you delete an email, it will be moved from the original folder to the Deleted Items folder automatically. If the deletion is accidental, it can be hard to find the deleted email and recover it, because it becomes crowded among all the other deleted emails. The best way to easily find the deleted email is to sort all deleted emails by the date deleted. After sorting by deleted date, the email you have just deleted will appear right at the top of the Deleted Items folder.

To sort all deleted email items by date deleted in Outlook, please do as follows:
1. Open the Deleted Items folder where you want to sort emails by date deleted.
2. Click "View" > "View Settings". See screenshot:
3. In the "Advanced View Settings: Hide Messages Marked for Deletion" dialog box, click the "Columns" button.
4. In the "Show Columns" dialog box, do the following:
1). Select "Date/Time fields" from the "Select available columns from" drop-down list.
2). Select "Modified" from the "Available columns" box.
3). Click the "Add" button to add this column to the "Show these columns in this order" list.
4). Click the "Move Up" button to move "Modified" to the top of the "Show these columns in this order" list.
5). Then click the "OK" button.
5. When you return to the "Advanced View Settings: Hide Messages Marked for Deletion" dialog box, click the "Sort" button.
6. In the "Sort" dialog box, do the following:
1). Select "Date/Time fields" from the "Select available fields from" drop-down list.
2). Select "Modified" from the "Sort items by" drop-down list.
3). Click the "OK" button.
7. Click the "OK" button again in the "Advanced View Settings: Hide Messages Marked for Deletion" dialog box to finish the whole settings.
Now your Deleted Items folder is sorted by date deleted.
Notes:
1. This method also applies to Outlook 2007.
2. This method only applies to the selected Deleted Items folder. If you have multiple Deleted Items folders, you need to set this option individually for each one.
