Hi there,

I tested this option on myself with my personal and work email. I am confused because the action ends up notifying the receiver that I recalled the message? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being discreet at recalling from the sender?

Thanks

Hi there, this is because Outlook's recall feature works by sending a request to the recipient's inbox to delete the original email. If the recipient's settings allow it, the original message is deleted automatically. However, the notification is a part of how the recall feature operates in Outlook, and it informs the recipient of your attempt to retract the email. This process is not discreet and the recipient will be aware that a recall was attempted.

My recall was unsuccessful but this option is definitely there and your guide helped me find it.

Thank you!

How long does it take to get a recall notification if this worked?

Hi, it'll only take a few seconds to get a notification no matter the recall worked or not.

Thank you. So I did not receive any report. That means my recall did not work, right?

This menu is ancient and does not match the 2022 interface. I have set the recall to 10 seconds but cannot find any option to actually recall the message:(

Il faut double cliquer sur le message pour l'ouvrir dans une fenêtre séparée.
Ensuite, seulement vous verrez l'option
