How to quickly insert checkbox symbol into Word document?

Insert checkbox symbol in Word

Please process following steps to insert checkbox symbol in Word.

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the checkbox symbol, then click Insert > Symbol > More Symbols.

  2. In the Symbol dialog box that opens, please (1) choose Wingdings 2 from the Font dropdown list; (2) select a desired checkbox symbol; (3) click the Insert button.

Tip: To insert the same checkbox symbol in another location, simply place the cursor where you want to insert it and click the Insert button again in the Symbol dialog box.

This method will guide you to define a checkbox symbol as a custom bullet, allowing you to insert multiple checkbox symbols in bulk by applying the custom bullet. Follow these steps:

  1. Select the content where you want to add checkbox symbols, then click Home > Bullets > Define New Bullet.
  2. Define New Bullet option on the ribbon

  3. In the Define New Bullet dialog box, click the Symbol button.

  5. In the Symbol dialog box:
    1. Select Wingdings 2 from the Font drop-down list.
    2. Choose one of the checkbox symbols from the selection.
    3. Click the OK button.

Now, the selected content will have the checkbox symbol added at the front of each line in bulk.

Note: If you want to batch add the checkbox symbols again in the future, select the rows, and choose the checkbox symbol from the Bullets drop-down list directly.
