Description

The Excel BESSELY function returns the Bessel function, which is also called the Weber function or Neumann function, for a specified value of x and order.

Syntax and arguments

Formula syntax

BESSELY(x, n)

Arguments

  • X: Required, the value at which the function is to be evaluated.
  • N: Required, the order of the Bessel function. Normally, it is an integer, if it is a decimal, it will be truncated.

Return Value

The BESSELKY function returns a numeric value.

Remark

The n-th order Bessel function of the variable x is:

Error

1. If any arguments of BESSELY function are nonnumeric values, #VALUE! value will be returned.

2. If argument n is less than zero, #NUM! value will be returned.

Usage and Examples

Example

To calculate the Bessel function at 5 with an order of 2, please use the formula:

=BESSELY(B4,C4)

Or directly type the values in the function

=BESSELY(5,2)
