Description
The Excel OCT2HEX function converts an octal number to a hexadecimal number.

Return Value
The OCT2BIN function returns a hexadecimal number.
Error
1. Return #NUM! error if one of the below states occurs:
- Argument number is > 777 or < 7777777000 or an invalid octal value;
- Argument places is provided not enough for the argument number, such as OCT2HEX(“21”,1) returns #NUM!, because the correct result is 11;
- Argument places is < = 0 or >10.
2. Return #VALUE! error if argument places is a non-numeric value.

Example
There is a list of octal numbers placed in C4:C10, to get the corresponding hexadecimal numbers based on the places in D4:D10, please copy or enter the below formula to the next cell of the range:
=OCT2HEX(C4,D4)
Press Enter key and drag the auto-fill handle down to get all hexadecimal numbers.
If you just use the formula once, you also can directly type arguments in the formula:
=OCT2HEX(0,1)
