You can apply the following formulas to get the last business day of previous month in Excel.

Get the last business day of previous month based on today

Assuming today’s date is 2018/7/31, select a blank cell, enter the following formula into the formula bar, and press Enter. This will return a five-digit number, which you need to format as a date. See screenshot:

=WORKDAY(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),1),-1)

As shown in the screenshot below, use the following formula to find the last business day of the previous month based on a given date in cell F2.

=WORKDAY(F2-DAY(F2)+1,-1)
