How to insert radio button in a Microsoft Word document?

Insert a radio button with the Developer tab in Word

This method will guide you through enabling the Developer tab and inserting a checkable and functional radio button in Word. Follow these steps:

  1. Click "File" > "Options" to open the Word Options dialog box.
  2. In the Word Options dialog box:
    1. Click "Customize Ribbon" from the left panel.
    2. Check the "Developer" option on the right.
    3. Click "OK" to add the Developer tab to the Word ribbon.

  3. Click "Developer" > "Legacy Tools" > "Option Button" to insert a radio button at the cursor location.

  4. Right-click the radio button and choose "OptionButton Object" > "Edit" from the context menu.

  5. Edit the label text of the radio button.

  6. Repeat steps 3–5 if you want to insert more option buttons.
  7. To exit Design Mode, click "Developer" > "Design Mode".
