Headings are missing from the list, i also checked in the Quick Parts but they are not there either.
Any idea on how to include them?

Thanks

This method didn't work for me but I found an easier solution. Go to the Header / Footer tab by double clicking on the header space. Then go to Insert -> Quick Parts -> Field. Look for StyleRef in the Field names list and click on it. Then, in the Style name tab find the Header style that you used (Heading 1 for example) and click ok. Boom you're done :)

I find this doesn’t always work correctly. I’ve used this method in a product spec and everything worked as expected. I went in to edit the document later, and some of the references to the “Heading 1” style on the page only showed the first letter of the text. If I double clicked on the reference in the footer, it would show the full test, but as soon as I clicked away from the reference, it would go back to showing only the first letter. Still haven’t figured it out.

is there a possibility to insert sub chapters?I tried but if the structure is deep (ie: h1->h2->h3->h4......) it happens that it is not coherent with the content of the document

Thank you SO MUCH for this! I had been looking around for clear instructions on exactly how to put headings into the footers of my pages in a massive word document, without having to create section breaks, and this was perfect! Many thanks.
