How to remove all first-line indents in Word?
In many Word documents, paragraphs often have first-line indents. However, depending on formatting requirements, you may need to remove all first-line indents efficiently instead of deleting them one by one. This tutorial introduces different methods to remove all first-line indents in Word.

Remove all first-line indents using the Format command
Instead of removing first-line indents one by one, you can use the Format function to remove them all at once.
- Press Ctrl + A to select the entire document.
- Right-click anywhere in the document and choose Paragraph.
- In the Paragraph dialog box, set the Special option to None in the Indentation section.
- Click OK to apply the changes.
Note: This method does not remove first-line indents created with space characters but does remove those created using the Tab key.
Remove all first-line indents using Kutools for Word
Kutools for Word provides a one-click solution to remove all first-line indents.
- If you want to remove first-line indents from a specific range, select the range first, then click Kutools > Indents > Remove All First Line Indents.
- If you want to remove first-line indents from the entire document, simply apply the feature by clicking Kutools > Indents > Remove All First Line Indents without selecting anything.
Note: This method can remove first-line indents created by both spaces and tab characters.

If you're comfortable with VBA, you can use a script to remove all first-line indents quickly.
- Press Alt + F11 to open the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
- Click Module under the Insert tab, then copy and paste the following VBA code into the module window.
