Excel Formula: Convert Time to Decimal Minutes

Time: the excel time that is used to convert to decimal minutes. |
Return Value
The formula returns a value in time format, then format the result as general or number as you need to get the decimal minutes.
How this formula work
Supposing in cell B3, there is a time value, to convert the time to decimal minutes, please use below formula:
=B3*1440 |
Press Enter key to get a value in time format.
Click Home tab, and go to the Number Format drop-down list to choose General or Number to display the result as a number.
Explanation
There are 24 hours a day, and one hour is equal to 60 minutes. To convert the time to decimal minutes, you should multiply the value 24*60.
