Kutools for Excel AI Options: Set Up Once, Use All AI Features Smoothly

Kutools for Excel includes a growing set of powerful AI-driven features—such as AI Data Analysis, AI writing assistance, summaries, translations, and more.

Before these features can work properly, one important step is required: AI configuration.

This is done through AI Options, where you choose an AI provider, enter an API key, and configure basic AI settings. Once set up, all supported AI features in Kutools for Excel can be used seamlessly.

How to Configure the AI Options?

Go to Kutools AI tab → Options → Options. You can configure the following:

1) AI Provider

Choose the AI service you want to use, such as:

  • OpenAI
  • Gemini

Kutools supports multiple providers for flexibility based on availability, preference, or region.

2) API Key

Enter your API key for the selected AI provider. This key allows Kutools to securely send requests and receive AI-generated results.

Once the key is saved, you won’t need to re-enter it unless you change providers or keys.

3) Prompt Templates (if applicable)

Some AI features support built-in or customizable templates to guide the AI’s response—use them to keep outputs consistent, relevant, and well-structured.

4) Save the Settings

After you finish configuration, click Save. You can start using all available AI features immediately.
