How to delete or hide favorite folders from Navigation Pane in Outlook?

The Favorites is a useful feature deployed at the top of Navigation pane, which can help us to access some folders quickly in Microsoft Outlook. However, some users may need to delete or hide the favorite folders in some cases. In this article, we will introduce three methods to delete or hide favorite folders from the Navigation Pane in Microsoft Outlook.

If you want to remove a certain folder from the favorites in the Navigation Pane, please right click this folder, and then click the Remove from Favorites in the right-clicking menu. See screen shot:

Note:

  1. You will find out the Remove from Favorite folders from the right-clicking menu in Outlook 2007.
  2. The favorite folders only display in the Mail view. You can get into the Mail view with clicking the Mail in the Navigation Pane.

You can collapse the Favorites to hide all Favorite folders with clicking the  before the Favorites in the Navigation Pane of Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013.

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2007, you can collapse the Favorite Folders with clicking the collapse button. See screen shot:

After collapsing the Favorites, you can only view the Favorites, but not folders in the Favorites. See screen shot:

This method will hide both the Favorites and its subfolders in the Navigation Pane.

  1. If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2007, shift to the Mail view, and click the View > Navigation Pane > Favorite Folders.
  2. If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013, shift to the Mail view, and  click the Folder Pane (or Navigation Pane) > Favorites on the View tab.

After turning off the Favorites (or Favorites Folder), you won’t find out the favorite folders in the Navigation Pane again. See screen shot:

Office 2013 prof plus, In People - Contacts. Folder - right click - delete option click - move to deleted items folder - yes, Folder this there. No option offered . I have searched help but no help for this offered. I set up this folder in error and want to remove it. How do I do this ?
