You can change the font style of each equation manually by following these steps:
- Highlight the equation for which you want to change the font.
- On the Equation tab (or Design in some Word versions), click on Text.
- Under the Home tab, use the Font group to adjust the font style, color, size, and other properties as needed:
If your document contains many equations, repeating this process for each one can be tedious and time-consuming. In such cases, consider using the alternative method described below.
Quickly change font formatting of all equations with Kutools for Word
Using Kutools for Word is an efficient way to change the font color, size, and style of all equations in your document at once. With its Select Equation utility, you can quickly select all equations in the document, making it easy to adjust their formatting.
- Go to Kutools > Paragraphs > Select Equations.
- All equations in the document will be selected. You can now change the font color, size, or other styles under the Home tab as needed. However, the font type cannot be changed since the Text option on the Equation tab is disabled when multiple equations are selected.
After making the desired changes, all selected equations will have the updated color, size, and style as shown below:
Note: The Text option on the Equation tab is disabled when all equations are selected, so the font face cannot be changed this way. To change the font face, use the first method to modify each equation one by one.
