Quickly mark all deleted items as read from Deleted Items folder in Outlook

When you delete some emails from the Inbox folder without reading them, all these items that will be located in the Deleted Items folder still keep unread status. This may be annoying when you apply the search feature to look for unread emails. In this case, our Kutools for Outlook supports a useful feature - Mark (Deleted Items) As Read, it helps you to mark all deleted items in the Deleted Items folder as read with only one click.

If multiple unread items exist in your Deleted Items folder, for marking them as read at once, please do as this:

1. Launch Outlook, and then click Kutools > Mark As Read > Mark Deleted Items As Read, see screenshot:

2. A dialog box pops up to ask you if you want to process the subfolders of the Deleted Items folder. Click Yes to mark the deleted emails as read in the subfolders of the Deleted folder, or click No to skip the subfolders.

3. Then a dialog pops out to remind you all emails in Delete Items folder have been marked as read. Click OK to close it.

Note: This utility works for Deleted Items folder across all accounts.

If you want to mark every deleted item as read automatically without manually processing each time, this feature also can do you a favor.

1. Click Kutools > Mark As Read > Enable Mark Deleted As Read to enable this utility, see screenshot:

2. A dialog box pops up to ask you if you want to process the subfolders of the Deleted Items folder. Click Yes to mark the deleted emails as read in the subfolders of the Deleted folder, or click No to skip the subfolders.

3. Then a dialog pops out to remind you all emails in Delete Items folder have been marked as read, click OK to close it. And from now on, the unread items will be marked as read automatically when they are deleted into Delete Items folder.

If you choose Yes in the step 2, you can see the Enable Mark as Read feature will shown as this:

If you choose No in the step 2, you can see the Enable Mark as Read feature will shown as this:

Click Mark as Read > Enable Mark Deleted as Read to turn off this feature.
