1. Place the cursor to the right of the equation, then go to "References" > "Insert Caption".

   

2. In the Caption dialog:
   1. Click the "New Label" button.
   2. In the New Label dialog, enter an opening parenthesis "(", then click "OK".

      

3. Back in the Caption dialog, type a closing parenthesis ")" in the "Caption" box, then click "OK".

   

4. The caption will now appear next to the equation. Select both the equation and its caption, then go to "Home" > "Align Right".

You can insert a right-aligned caption for an equation using a table in Word. Follow these steps:

1. Click "Insert" > "Table", and select a 3x1 table to insert.

   

2. Enter your equation in the second cell of the table.

   

   Tip: You can adjust the table width by dragging the borders or changing the size under "Cell Size" in the "Layout" tab (under "Table Tools").
3. Click "References" > "Insert Caption".

   

4. Customize the caption as follows:
   1. In the Caption dialog box, click "New Label".

5. Select the caption, press Ctrl + X to cut it, and paste it into the third cell of the table.

   

6. Place the cursor in the third cell, then click "Layout" > "Align Center Right" to align the caption to the right.

   

   Tip: You can also center the equation by selecting the second cell and clicking "Layout" > "Align Center".
7. Highlight the entire table, then click "Design" (under "Table Tools") > "Borders" > "No Border" to remove the table borders.

   

The equation and caption are now added with the caption right-aligned.
