How to find cells with conditional formatting in Excel?

In Excel, you can easily locate cells with conditional formatting applied. Additionally, you can identify cells that share the same conditional formatting rules as a selected cell. This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions for finding and selecting these cells in your worksheet.

Find all cells with conditional formatting in Excel

Using the Find & Select function, you can quickly locate all cells with conditional formatting in the current worksheet.

1. Click "Find & Select" > "Conditional Formatting" under "Home" tab. See screenshot:

2. After clicking Conditional Formatting in above step, all cells with conditional formatting in current worksheet will be selected immediately.

Find all cells with the same conditional formatting as a selected cell in Excel

In addition to finding all cells with conditional formatting, you can also locate all cells in the current worksheet that share the same type of conditional formatting as a selected cell. Follow these steps:

1. Select a cell that contains the conditional formatting you want to find in other cells.

2. Click "Find & Select" > "Go To Special" under "Home" tab.

3. In the "Go To Special" dialog box, check the "Conditional formats" and the "Same" options, and then click the "OK" button. See screenshot:

All cells with the same type of conditional formatting as the selected cell will now be highlighted.
