How to remove extra spaces between words in Word

Extra spaces between words in a Word document can make your text look untidy and unprofessional. Method 1: To eliminate extra spaces between words using the Find and Replace function, follow these steps:

Press Ctrl + H to display the Find and Replace dialog.
Press the Space bar twice in the Find what field and once in the Replace with field.
Click the Replace All button.
Repeat the step 3 until you see "All done. We mae 0 replacements".

Method 2: If you are familiar with regular expressions, you can delete all extra spaces between words at once using the regular expression patterns in the following steps:

Press Ctrl + H to display the Find and Replace dialog.
Type ( ){2,} in the Find what field, and \1 in the Replace with field.
Press the More button to show more options, and then select the Use wildcards checkbox.
After setting these options, click Replace All to remove all extra spaces between words throughout the document.

Note: ( ){2,} is a regular expression pattern that matches two or more consecutive spaces. And \1 is a replacement pattern that tells Word to replace the matched sequence with a single space.
